On March 12th 2019 , I had the opportunity to be part of “Radical Acts & Musical Deviancy: Music of Resistance” – the third installment of Arturo O’Farrill’s four-month artist-in-residence series at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space.
The evening highlighted the music of resistance and included performances of The Offense of the Drum, which utilizes percussion instruments from all over the world to explore liberation and oppression, as well as 40 Acres and a Burro, Three Revolutions, and selections from the Little Tiny Walls Suite – a project that interrogates immigration and identity.
